Bio

Orion Hellraiser started in 2006 as a one-man project, trying to re-define the concept of how modern metal should sound like with defying, daring riffs filled with attitude. His music sounds fresh and new but still captures the best old-school vibe from classic metal.

Born in March 11th, 1991. Orion Hellraiser started a journey that was set to end doing what he loves.... MUSIC!!. His family were a major influence on the music that later developed into his passion for music. From a wide range of music on his childhood, early influences of music came from Michael Jackson, Nirvana, The Doors, Creedence, The Beatles, some mexican rock bands like Caifanes, La Cuca, Soda Stereo and a lot of classical music.

When he turned 12 years old, a major milestone was set when he first listened "St. Anger" from Metallica. According to him, he was a really shy, angry kid at the time due to problems within his family and school, but then he feeled "cleansed and empowered" just by listening to that song, "I could have scream, I could have got myself in a lot of troubles at that time, but man, Metallica at that time saved my life, all the anger came out just by listening to that mezmerizing new song I've listened and I entered a whole new world".

He started saving money to buy records on a weekly basis with his own money, "I bought a bunch of music at that time Megadeth, Apocalyptica, Slayer, Motörhead.... but definitely Metallica was the BAND that made me say 'Man, I need to play guitar' ". And he found his 1st guitar soon afterwards at an outlet somewhere, he bought his first acoustic guitar for 10 bucks, and he never dropped it, playing it on his own everyday.

"I never took a damn lesson" -he says. "Sure I was interested on getting better, but then I went with some guitar teachers that knew almost nothing! the only thing useful I got from those days was to tune my guitar and then I quitted, I advanced by playing on my own"

"I embrace my influences, mainstream or underground, they all need the respect they deserve" he continued. "Believe it or not, Michael Jackson and Black Sabbath are on the same page when you talk about my love for music, bands like Angel Witch, Saxon, Candlemass, Venom, ZZ Top, Misfits, Exodus, Gaskin, Tygers of Pan Tang were such an influence on the way I play and the way I compose".

He then began to compose his own music by the age of 15, he was a solitary kid that wrote his own songs on the corner as a way to have fun. "Music was my therapy, the only way I could be honest and the only way that I could talk about my problems in a positive way".

Since then he gained a lot of passion for the music, and then he learned how to make music on his own, and he has produced, recorded and played everything he does since then "I had really bad experiences when I tried joining bands, awful musicians, awful people, and I never pictured myself with anybody playing something more than covers, so, I made my choice to do it on my own, and look! here I am, a step beyond than some of that bands."

"I like having total control of my music, my songs are like my babies, I do what I do and I won't compromise my music, my art, my thoughts for the media, corporations nor the audience! because this should be kept honest and pure, and that's what I love to do" - He concluded.

It's been a long way for Orion Hellraiser, but it's just beginning and it looks like a bright future awaits for him, His music is pretty much like his personality, Honest, straightforward, with a lot of attitude and uncompromising.
